Winter Wonderland Tour — Author/Illustrator Jan Brett and her gorgeous tour bus stopped by Wausau, Wis., at the Elk's Ballroom, on Dec. 3, 2023, for a presentation on a research trip to Alaska (with an art lesson, too). After her presentation, we quickly talked about our chickens and hers as she signed our book at an event organized by the oldest book store in the Midwest, Janke Bookstore, in Wausau, WI. Brett owns and shows Polish chickens.
(We even gave her her own #FlatFrieda [the chicken version of the traveling Flat Stanley]!)
Before the book signing, we all learned a bit about musk ox and Alaska as Jan Brett told the crowd about a research trip to Palmer, Alaska. She showed us a gorgeous quiviet hat. Brett also gave an art lesson, drawing her musk ox character, Cozy, with a puffin friend.
Brett has well over 40 children's books and many feature chicks and chickens like: Cinders: A Chicken Cinderella Story; Hedgie's Surprise; and The Easter Egg.
